To the printer. Sir, some time ago a facetious friend of
mine took a fancy to burlesque the immortal poet Homer, and
accordingly began the first book, but by an accident was
prevented from pursuing his intention. I inclose you his
performance, which I doubt not will be entertaining to your
readers, and perhaps induce some other hand to carry it
